Coach Bios

During his time as head coach of the Villanova men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs Rick Simpson has made his mark as not only a successful coach, but also has broadened the program’s recruiting horizons both nationwide and internationally. He is in his 17th year with the Wildcats in 2016-17.
In the past six years,Simpson has seen the Villanova women’s swimming & diving team elevate to become one of the top BIG EAST programs thanks to an influx of both local and international talent.
The women’s team won their third consecutive BIG EAST Championship in 2016. The Wildcats won all but two events at the meet, breaking 13 records in the process. Between the women’s and men’s teams, 18 student-athletes earned All-BIG EAST honors.
